A simple common Ganesha Sadhana
For most of the non-Tantric forms, you can use this simple devotional procedure:
- Take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Clean the puja space.
- Place a Ganesha murti or image.
- Light a ghee or sesame-oil lamp.
- Light incense.
- Offer water.
- Offer durvā grass.
- Offer red or yellow flowers according to the form.
- Offer fruit and a sattvic sweet such as modak.
- Chant the chosen Ganesha mantra 108 times.
- Sit silently for 5–10 minutes.
- State your prayer or sankalpa.
- Perform aarti.
- Distribute the prasad.
