Moksha Pattam / Gyan Chaupad
Also called the Enlightenment Board, the Moksha Pattam holds the story of your life's journey and looks like a Snakes & Ladders Board. Ladders represented good qualities like faith, humility, generosity, honesty. Snakes/chutes represented the flip side – lust, anger, theft, murder. The ideal is to reach salvation – Moksha – by doing good deeds, and bad deeds will send you backwards in life (Patamu).

Also called the Enlightenment Board, the Moksha Pattam holds the story of your life's journey. It's believed that the game has existed (in some version or another) since 2 B.C. Ladders represented good qualities like faith, humility, generosity, honesty. Snakes/chutes represented the flip side – lust, anger, theft, murder. The ideal was to reach salvation – Moksha – by doing good deeds, and bad deeds will send you backwards in life (Pattam).
Moksha Pattam is not an ordinary board. It has the potential to transform not only our material life but help us reach a level of wisdom in our spiritual journey as well.
Moksha Pattam reveals our present state of life and helps us evaluate whether we are growing spiritually or not. Also, it can reveal our karma story, by predicting our Past, Present and Likely Future so that we can find deeper truths hidden below the surface and change the outcome. It helps in taking remedial measures in life to change what is possible and provide us with innumerable solutions.
What kind of questions can you ask?
We can ask any question from the board related to our life e.g. Health, Wealth, Relationship, Career, Spirituality etc.
How does it work?
This board contains 72 boxes and each box represents our state of being at one particular point of time. Learning about the board, would help in innumerable ways. We can sit with the board and ask about not only our past, present, future but our Soul’s Journey as a whole. It is a map of our inner states. Not only questions can be asked and solutions provided but even to create situations consciously, help of the board can be taken. Ladders are the positive aspects of our behaviour and consciousness which help to evolve and Snakes represent our negative side which needs to be transformed to reach enlightenment.
